INTERVIEW WITH DIRECTOR GENERAL, PROFESOR DR. LUIS CURBELO ALFONSO

Founded in 1966, the Cuban National Institute of Oncology and Radiobiology (INOR) is a national reference center in oncology, headquarters of the National Cancer Registry, created in 1964; of the Cuban Society of Oncology, Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine, and of the National Oncology Group.

Member of the International Union Against Cancer, INOR, the first Latin American institution that carried out clinical trials in oncology, is a leader in research on this disease and the only one that holds the certificate in Good Clinical Practices (GCP) granted in 2016 by the Center for State Control of Drugs, Equipment and Medical Devices (CECMED), to which the Hospital Accreditation (National Accreditation Board, 2017) is added.

An outstanding scientific and technical unit for research, assistance, teaching and assimilation of technologies, has organized high quality and efficient assistance scenarios where several multidisciplinary teams converge and are consolidated, among which are the classification, central, and follow-up consultations; medical staff, multipurpose clinic, pain management, as well as support and palliative care. The main mission of INOR is to achieve the full satisfaction of patients, families and workers.
