For travelers arriving in the Ecuadorian west coast, Manta is a destination to fall head over heels in love with. Each territory has its own identity, and that of this city, in the province of Manatí, is an eye-opening blend of natural charms and commercial development enhanced by its strategic geographical location, to which it owes the moniker of "The Gateway to the Pacific".

Between November 25 and 28 of this year, the city will host Discover CIT, the most important International Tourism Convention in Ecuador. In its third edition, the event has scheduled over a dozen activities aimed at rekindling and boosting tourism in this South American country, based on the challenges currently facing the sector.

Prior to the impact of COVID-19, Manta had successfully ventured into business tourism and nabbed 25,000 international travelers each year by cruise ships docking at the port. Without the wealth of attractions that puts it on the map, Ecuador's charms would be incomplete, the magic that enthralls visitors in search of new experiences and, once they get to know the region, keeps them coming back.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT THIS LAND THAT SEDUCES AND MAKES IT A PRIVILEGED SETTING?

As it is often the case with coastal cities, the sea radiates the life of the territory. Manta has one of the most attractive seaports for tourism, where most of the nation's cruise ship calls occur due to its geographical conditions. With a direct-access channel to the international docks, the terminal has slips for receiving and dropping off passengers in front of the main entrance near the boardwalk, which brings together various commercial and service areas.

Penciled in as one of Ecuador's top administrative, economic, commercial and financial mainstays, the city also stands out for its seaside resorts. Among the most beautiful and welcoming, Murciélago beach is a good case in point. With about 1,700 meters of surface, it is one of the most sought-after of all, in an area of hotel infrastructure and a variety of restaurants where you can taste delicious dishes. The possibility of practicing water sports in its crystal-clear waters, such as surfing and diving, also accounts for a very luring option for tourists and locals.

Other popular beaches in Manta are Santa Marianita and San Lorenzo. The

THIS MARVELOUS SEASIDE CITY HARBORS THE COUNTRY'S TOP TOURIST, MARITIME AND FISHING PORT, WHERE MOST CRUISES DOCK LURED BY ITS GEOGRAPHIC CONDITIONS. AS A TERRITORY LADEN WITH ASSORTED ATTRACTIONS, PAYING A VISIT TO IT IS ALWAYS A ONE-ANDONLY EXPERIENCE
