Argentina

The land of tango is home to two of the most important film festivals in the world: the Mar de Plata and BAFICI festivals. The first one, inaugurated in 1954, holds a candle to the most important festivals worldwide, such as Cannes, Berlin, Venice or San

Sebastian. While the second, an event that came into being in 1999 and is nestled in the city of Buenos Aires, is a world-renowned venue for independent productions.

Also in Argentina, specifically in the region of Ushuaia, a place known as "the end of the world", the final sequence of the film The Revenant, by Alejandro González Iñárritu, starring Leonardo Dicaprio, was shot; and in Mendoza, Brad Pitt's performance in the film Seven Years in Tibet (1997) was immortalized.
